These Community Guidelines help ensure VoicePin remains a safe, respectful, and inspiring place for all users.

What's Not Allowed ❌

Prohibited Content

We have zero tolerance for the following types of content:

🚫 Hate Speech & Harassment

• Hate speech targeting race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
• Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse of individuals or groups
• Threats of violence or harm against any person or group
• Doxxing (sharing someone's private information without consent)

🚫 Illegal Content

• Content that promotes or facilitates illegal activities
• Copyright infringement (using others' copyrighted audio without permission)
• Trademark violations
• Content that violates local, state, or federal laws

🚫 Adult & Explicit Content

• Nudity or sexually explicit material (audio descriptions or sounds)
• Sexual content involving minors (strict zero tolerance)
• Pornographic content of any kind

🚫 Violence & Harm

• Content that promotes, glorifies, or instructs violence
• Self-harm or suicide promotion
• Content that exploits or endangers minors
• Graphic descriptions of violence or gore

🚫 Misinformation & Scams

• Deliberately false information intended to mislead
• Scams, phishing, or fraudulent schemes
• Spam or repetitive content
• Impersonation of others (individuals, brands, organizations)

🚫 Privacy Violations

• Recording private conversations without consent
• Sharing personal information of others without permission
• Content recorded in private spaces where recording is prohibited
• Stalking or non-consensual tracking

🚫 Dangerous Organizations

• Content that supports terrorist organizations
• Content that promotes organized crime or gang activity
• Content that recruits for dangerous groups

Content Creation Best Practices

Recording Etiquette 🎤

• Respect Privacy: Don't record people without their consent
• Respect Property: Follow local laws about recording in public and private spaces
• Be Mindful: Avoid recording in places where silence is expected (libraries, memorials, religious sites)
• Audio Quality: Try to minimize background noise for better listening experiences
• Length: Keep pins concise and engaging (1-3 minutes recommended)

Location Accuracy 📍

• Pin Correctly: Place pins at the actual location you're describing
• Don't Spam Locations: Avoid creating multiple similar pins in the same spot
• Respect Sacred/Private Spaces: Don't pin content to private property, religious sites, or memorials without appropriate context and respect

Intellectual Property 🎵

• Original Content: Create your own audio or use content you have rights to
• Music & Samples: Only use music or audio samples you own or have permission to use
• Fair Use: If using others' content, ensure it qualifies as fair use
• Attribution: Credit sources when appropriate

Reporting Violations

If you see content that violates these guidelines:

1. Tap the "Report" button on any pin

2. Select the reason for reporting (hate speech, harassment, spam, etc.)

3. Provide details (optional but helpful)

4. Submit the report

What Happens Next?

• Our moderation team reviews all reports
• Violating content may be removed
• Severe or repeat violations may result in account suspension or termination
• We may report illegal content to law enforcement

False Reports

Making false or malicious reports wastes resources and harms the community. Users who repeatedly submit false reports may face account restrictions.

Consequences for Violations

Violations of these Community Guidelines may result in:

First Offense (Minor Violation)

• Warning: Email notification explaining the violation
• Content Removal: The violating pin will be deleted
• Education: Links to these guidelines

Second Offense (or Moderate Violation)

• Temporary Suspension: Account suspended for 7-30 days
• Content Removal: All violating content removed
• Final Warning: Explanation of consequences for future violations

Severe or Repeat Violations

• Permanent Ban: Account permanently terminated
• Content Deletion: All pins and data removed
• IP/Device Block: Prevention of new account creation
• Law Enforcement: Serious violations (illegal content, threats) reported to authorities

Appeal Process

If you believe your content was removed in error:

1. Email support@bitejee.app with your username and pin details

2. Explain why you think the removal was incorrect

3. Our team will review your appeal within 5 business days

Special Considerations

Political Content

• Political speech is allowed, but must not violate other guidelines
• No hate speech, harassment, or calls for violence
• Misinformation about voting or civic processes is prohibited

Commercial Content

• Light commercial content is allowed (e.g., "This coffee shop makes great lattes")
• Excessive advertising or spam is not allowed
• Affiliate links or paid promotions must be disclosed
• Contact us for business partnership opportunities

Sensitive Locations

Extra care is required when creating pins at:

• Historical Sites: Be respectful and accurate
• Memorials: Maintain appropriate tone and respect
• Religious Sites: Honor the sanctity of the space
• Disaster Sites: Be sensitive to those affected

Age-Appropriate Content

VoicePin is for users 13 years and older. All content should be appropriate for a general audience that includes teenagers.

• Avoid excessive profanity
• No adult/sexual content
• No extreme violence or gore
• No content that exploits or endangers minors

• Speak clearly in your recordings
• Provide descriptions and context in pin details
• Be mindful of users with different abilities

Content You Own, Community We Share

You own your content, but by sharing on VoicePin, you're contributing to a shared community experience.

• Others can discover and play your pins
• Your pins represent you—make them count!
• Deleting your account removes your content from VoicePin

Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines as VoicePin grows. When we make significant changes:

• We'll notify users via in-app notification
• The "Last Updated" date will reflect changes
• Continued use of VoicePin means you accept the updated guidelines
